I am interested in a VOIP system that my computer doesnt have to be on all the time for. I would prefer like a system that gives me a perminant phone number.

Answer by Mr. VoIPAs a full home phone VoIP alternative, you can do it with services like Packet8 or Vonage. They provide everything you need but at a higher price than some others.
Ooma or Joip may be a good
